📌 IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING
This page is for Final Site Measurements, also known as templating.
Final templating is completed after your project has been approved and your site is ready for accurate final measurement.
Bookings made before receiving an invitation from Bamby Stone may be cancelled.
If your preferred time is not shown, that time has already been booked or is not available.
To reschedule, please cancel your existing booking first using the link in your confirmation email, then contact Bamby Stone so we can provide the correct re-booking link if required.
⚠️ Please allow at least 7 days’ notice to avoid rescheduling fees.
Re-measurement / Templating Rescheduling Fee: $499 + GST.
If we attend and the site is not ready, unsafe, inaccessible, or not suitable for accurate templating, Bamby Stone may cancel the visit and a re-measurement fee may apply.
All bookings, site measurements, approvals, production and installation works remain subject to Bamby Stone Terms and Conditions:
📐 FINAL SITE MEASUREMENTS / TEMPLATING – WHAT YOU MUST KNOW
Final templating is the final site-check and measurement stage before production begins.
Once final measurements and project details are reviewed and confirmed, your project can move into production based on the approved details.
Changes requested after templating, after final confirmation, or after production begins may incur additional fees, delay production, or require re-production.
✅ YOUR SITE MUST BE READY
Before booking final templating, please make sure:
- Cabinets are fully installed, fixed, level, aligned, structurally suitable, and ready.
- Appliances, sinks, cooktops, taps, and relevant specifications are on-site or already confirmed.
- The site is clear, safe, and accessible for our team.
- Existing benchtops or obstructions have been removed where required.
- Any required cabinet corrections, levelling, alignment, support work, or site preparation has been completed.
- Splashbacks, wall tiles, and painting should be completed after stone installation, not before, unless Bamby Stone has confirmed otherwise in writing.
If the site is not ready, accurate templating may not be possible and a re-attendance or re-measurement fee may apply.
🧠 DECISION-MAKER REQUIRED ON SITE
A decision-maker must be present during the templating visit to confirm any final project details required by Bamby Stone.
This may include:
- Sink placement
- Cooktop placement
- Tap hole positions where applicable
- Edge profile selections
- Join locations
- Corner or radius details
- Overhang and splashback alignment details where required
- Any final project-specific details
All required decisions must be final at the time of templating.
Changes requested after templating may incur additional fees, delay production, or require re-production.
📏 BAMBY STONE STANDARD OVERHANG & SPLASHBACK ALIGNMENT
To maintain a consistent finish and reduce avoidable alignment disputes caused by cabinet movement, cabinet variation, site irregularities, or minor cabinetry misalignment, Bamby Stone applies standard overhang and alignment rules during final templating, production, and installation.
Exposed sides and visible ends
Where a benchtop, vanity top, laundry top, desk top, fireplace hearth, table top, or similar stone surface has an exposed side or visible end that does not finish directly into a wall, cabinetry panel, or other fixed obstruction, Bamby Stone’s standard finish is a 10mm overhang.
This standard helps prevent the stone from visually appearing too far in or too far out if cabinetry is slightly uneven, misaligned, or moves after installation.
Front edge standard
- Where cabinetry has handleless drawers or doors that open from the top, the front edge will generally be finished flush to the drawer or door face, unless Bamby Stone determines another detail is required for the project.
- Where cabinetry has front handles, Bamby Stone’s standard front finish is a 10mm overhang.
Splashback alignment
Where a benchtop area includes a splashback, stone splashback, wall cladding, upstand, or similar return piece, the splashback will generally finish in line with the finished benchtop edge position. This includes any standard overhang applied by Bamby Stone.
Important: These are Bamby Stone standard measurement and finishing rules. They are applied to protect the final appearance, reduce avoidable alignment disputes, and support a consistent installation outcome.
Any requested variation must be reviewed and approved by Bamby Stone in writing before production. Bamby Stone may decline variations that create visual, installation, safety, structural, support, warranty, access, handling, production, or quality concerns.
Note: Larger island seating, breakfast bar, waterfall, feature, or project-specific overhangs are treated separately and must be confirmed as part of the approved project scope.
📐 10MM SITE, MEASUREMENT & INSTALLATION TOLERANCE
Stone fabrication and installation are subject to site, measurement, manufacturing, wall, cabinetry, handling, and installation tolerances.
Perfect alignment is not always possible because walls, cabinetry, floors, site structures, appliance positions, and surrounding surfaces are rarely perfectly straight, level, plumb, square, or stable.
Unless otherwise required by law, minor variation up to 10mm may occur in relation to visual alignment, finished edge position, overhang position, wall gaps, splashback alignment, join alignment, cabinet-to-stone alignment, site fit, and finished positioning.
This tolerance does not allow Bamby Stone to ignore reasonable workmanship standards. It recognises normal site and construction limitations, especially where cabinetry, walls, floors, site structures, appliance positions, or third-party works are not perfectly aligned, level, plumb, square, complete, or stable.
⚠️ CLIENT-REQUESTED VARIATIONS & NON-STANDARD FEATURES
If a client requests a flush finish, reduced overhang, increased overhang, non-standard overhang, non-standard edge profile, non-standard splashback alignment, non-standard join location, unusual stone feature, special design detail, or another variation to Bamby Stone’s standard measurement, production, installation, or finishing rules, the request must be reviewed and approved by Bamby Stone in writing before production.
Bamby Stone may decline any requested variation or non-standard feature that creates visual, installation, safety, structural, support, warranty, access, handling, production, or quality concerns.
If Bamby Stone agrees to proceed with a client-requested variation or non-standard feature, the client acknowledges and accepts that the variation may increase the risk of visual inconsistency, shadow lines, uneven appearance, overhang movement, insufficient support, cracking, chipping, bowing, vibration, alignment concerns, splashback alignment differences, join visibility, reduced durability, or other project-specific issues.
Where an issue arises because of the client’s requested variation, design instruction, site condition, cabinetry condition, support condition, appliance position, third-party work, or decision to proceed against Bamby Stone’s standard recommendation, the client accepts responsibility for that issue and any related cost, delay, rectification, rework, replacement, additional support, revised production, or further attendance required.
For larger overhangs, cantilevered stone, unsupported stone, special edge profiles, unusual shapes, or other high-risk features, the client may be required to arrange suitable cabinetry, brackets, steel support, engineering advice, builder confirmation, or other structural support before production or installation. Bamby Stone may refuse to proceed unless it is satisfied the requested detail can be produced and installed safely.
Bamby Stone remains responsible for workmanship performed by Bamby Stone within the approved scope. However, Bamby Stone is not responsible for the consequences of client-requested variations, non-standard features, unsuitable site conditions, insufficient support, or third-party works where those matters caused or contributed to the issue.
❗ CABINETRY ALIGNMENT, CORNERS & SITE CONDITIONS
Curved, angled, uneven, unsupported, moving, or misaligned cabinets must be corrected by your cabinet maker before final templating.
- If cabinetry is not level, aligned, fixed, or structurally ready, accurate templating may not be possible.
- If the customer chooses to proceed without correcting site or cabinetry issues, Bamby Stone is not responsible for visual flaws, uneven gaps, improper fit, alignment-related concerns, or issues caused by cabinetry or site conditions.
- Bamby Stone may cancel or reschedule templating on site if the area is not suitable for accurate measurement.
⚒️ BACKLIGHTING OR LARGE STONE PANELS
Some projects require additional preparation before final templating.
- For backlit stone projects, the required flat and level base or support structure must be prepared before templating.
- Bamby Stone does not supply or build the structural base for backlighting unless specifically agreed in writing.
- Large panels may require on-site joins depending on slab size, site access, handling requirements, and installation conditions.
🚫 MISSED, UNSAFE OR UNREADY SITES
If we attend and the site is not ready, unsafe, inaccessible, or not suitable for accurate templating, Bamby Stone may cancel the visit and reschedule.
- A re-measurement or rescheduling fee may apply.
- Any delays caused by site readiness issues may affect production and installation timing.
- Additional costs may apply if further attendance, re-measurement, re-checking, revised production work, or additional project coordination is required.
🧾 WHAT HAPPENS AFTER FINAL TEMPLATING?
After final measurements are completed:
- Final measurements, photos, notes, and project details are reviewed by Bamby Stone.
- You may be asked to review and confirm the final templating report before production begins.
- Once confirmed, your project moves into production based on the approved details.
- Further changes after confirmation may incur additional fees, delays, or re-production costs.
- Installation will be coordinated separately after production planning is confirmed.
