Our Marine Grade AA Hardwood Plywood is the recommended backing material for achieving a flawless installation with Bamby Stone RGBWW LED backlit stone panels. It provides the perfectly flat, rigid, and stable surface required to support the LED panel and ensure a smooth, even glow through the stone.

When This Product Is Needed

If your project already has a flat and solid surface, such as:

• completed plasterboard wall

• rendered wall

• cement sheet

• any rigid, fully supported backing

then no additional plywood is required.

However, in installations where the LED panel will sit on cabinetry, the top area is hollow and unsupported. In these cases the LED panel must sit on an absolutely flat structural base, and this is where the Marine Grade plywood becomes essential. It prevents sagging, bowing, or movement and protects both the LED panel and the stone.

Product Performance

This AA Grade plywood is manufactured using FSC certified mixed hardwood veneers with a smooth premium finish on both sides. The high strength marine bond provides excellent durability and moisture resistance, making it suitable for illuminated splashbacks, island fronts, feature walls, and custom stone furniture.

Compliant with BS1088:2018 and bonded with a Type A phenolic glue, it offers superior stability that helps maintain consistent lighting without distortion.

Thickness Options

Available in 6mm, 12mm, and 18mm thicknesses.
Your installer can select the correct thickness depending on the size of the stone panel, weight distribution, and installation location.

This board acts strictly as the flat support structure. The LED panel is placed directly on top of the plywood, and the stone is installed directly on the LED panel.
